The long range forecast looks promising with warming weather and a few sprinkles of rain, a near perfect start to the fishing season. If anglers recall last sprin,g the stocking was delayed until Adams Lake thawed. No delays are anticipated this time around but weather dictates such matters.Other nearby lakes that will receive trout will be Rocky Fork on April 2 for a special youth fishing event; Stonelick Lake in Clermont County on April 9; and Turkey Creek Lake in Shawnee State Park for the 50th anniversary of Ohio’s oldest fishing event, the Shawnee Trout Derby, on April 23.The stocked trout measure between 10-13 inches. Anglers will need a valid Ohio fishing license and the daily limit is five trout.Scheduled for this weekend, March 5, from noon to 3 p.m., is the annual Division of Wildlife Open House where hunters and fishers, or anybody for that matter can complain, praise, or just socialize with Division of Wildlife personal. The open houses are intended as a platform where the public can express their concerns or approvals on wildlife matters such as fishing or deer hunting. Online comments will be accepted through Sunday, March 6. For southwest Ohio, including Adams County, the location of the hearing is Greene County Fish and Game, 1538 Union Rd., Xenia 45385, phone number (937) 372-9261. last_img read more
